Pennine Five

Functional, stylish, and modern Iroko timber bin store for contemporary office redevelopment in the heart of Sheffield

Project overview

Pennine Five comprises five buildings of contemporary and flexible office space. With communal areas, outdoor spaces, as well as food and drink options, the campus style building is designed to foster relationships and create opportunities between workers across the different companies here.

The highlight feature of the redevelopment is the creation of an outdoor plaza with planting and seating areas. Ensuring the campus is pleasant to walk around and enjoy, our bin shelter for Pennine Five is clad in a special Iroko timber that conceals bins, while the gates still allow easy access when required.

Our Iroko timber fencing panels house the generator, providing an aesthetic screen to keep everything tidy. With a green sedum roof on top, we can help support wildfire, while providing extra greenery within the development.

The shelter is typical of Turvec projects, helping maintain the highest quality finish even at the fringes of a building. Cycle parking, street furniture, and bin stores all deserve materials that function properly, age well, and look good.

It would have been so easy to have a bike store and bin shed that did what they were supposed to, but weren’t so great to look at. Ours manage to do their job but also look fantastic too. The design and wooden cladding blend wonderfully into the natural surroundings and link to our lovely new building."
